The unwillingness of lawyers to step out of their comfort zone and take risks is the biggest barrier to entry for legal tech, according to panelists and speakers at the 2020 Singapore TechLaw.Fest, held virtually this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Lawyers are trained to identify risks, they are not trained to take risks. When you put some of these lawyers in charge, you can start to see why innovation might not always be easy,” said Ben Tidswell, chairman of Ashurst.
