It may be fall to everyone else, but last week Reed Smith announced it was launching the first in an ongoing cycle of "Innovation Seasons." The three-month program is geared toward driving more employee-led improvements to services by filling in one key gap that often stands between firms and successful innovation—knowledge.

Reed Smith's current innovation season kicked off earlier this month and will run through the end of December with a focus on the use of data in legal services. Lawyers and business services staff will engage with technology demonstrations, review case studies of successful innovation projects and take part in design sprints and idea campaigns. This season, for example, will include guests from Reed Smith's practice innovation team and insights into the current state of legal innovation from the director of technology programs at BPP University in the U.K.
