How to Succeed at Legal Technology Adoption

1. Establish Proper Foundation: Establishing a strong foundation for technology adoption starts earlier than you think. People are inclined to get excited about flashy technology, but it's critical to take a step back and ask, is this technology solving a problem that people in my organization actually have? Only by understanding the problem can you effectively move forward with deploying a solution with a measurable impact on the business.

2. Ask Questions to Understand How Technology Can Solve the Problem: Next, ask more detailed questions to understand how the technology can solve the problem. For example, is this technology solving a problem that everyone has or is the problem limited to a specific group of people, such as a practice area, geographical region, or role? Focusing on specific stakeholders will help you dig into the criteria for solving the problem and the features that are likely to be mission critical. Now, you can target deployment of the right technology to the right people, those who are likely to be motivated and realize concrete benefits.
