Just based on their size, Big Four hiring usually makes a large part of the moves in the legal market in any given year. But in 2020, Deloitte's hiring stood out for just sheer number of former ALSP leaders it brought onboard. The influx of new talent, many of which came from the ALSP Elevate, helped the Big Four company not only grow its legal consultancy business, but launch an entirely new legal services practice as well. Below, we look back at how Deloitte changed the ALSP market, and grew its own reach in the process.

Mark Ross, principal, Deloitte's Legal Business Services practice: Deloitte has filled out its new legal business services practice with ALSP talent. In January, the company brought on Mark Ross, who was the former executive vice president and global head of contracts at ALSP Integreon. Ross soon became principal of the new Deloitte legal services practice when it launched in July.

Emily Foges, lead partner, Deloitte Legal: After four years as the CEO of AI contract review platform Luminance, Emily Foges made the jump from legal tech to the Big Four in June. While Foges joined Deloitte Legal as lead partner, she'll still remain on the advisory board for Luminance's European operations. Prior to Luminance, Foges worked as the international product development director at Equifax and held director-level positions at BT Retail and Betfair.
