On Tuesday, e-discovery company Planet Data Solutions became the latest e-discovery provider to be purchased by a competitor, when Veristar announced it acquired the company for an undisclosed sum.

Veristar was launched in 2019 by the former leaders of data service company Franklin Data and document and management review provider CertaTech, and was initially supported by the acquisition of select services from Nexem Legal.

With numerous decades in the e-discovery space, Veristar CEO Rick Avers said he was well aware of Planet Data and its chief operating officer David Cochran prior to acquisition talks.
