While record-breaking investments in legal tech have become increasingly common in recent years, many female- and minority-led startups face a different reality, noted Paladin co-founder and CEO Felicity Conrad.

"As a female-founded company those numbers may not apply to you and you should be prepared for it to be a slightly uphill fund raising journey," Conrad said. "Financing numbers for female- and minority-run companies are actually down over 2019. That's one caveat to understand that a $20 million Series A may be a challenge."

Conrad and other female legal tech company leaders shared their experiences navigating venture capital and building a legal tech company during Priori Legal Inc.'s "Women in Legal Tech: Startup & Beyond" webinar held Wednesday.
