The title of Tuesday’s Legalweek(year) panel on contract tech may have been “Legal as a Superhero: How Legal Is Leveraging CLM Solutions to Propel the Business Forward”—but the message was very much that even in-house teams can’t do it all. Panelists focused on how artificial intelligence-powered contracting solutions can help corporate attorneys reassign some key contracting responsibilities back to business units while expediting delivery times.

“How can I get to a point where I’m not just reducing the lawyer time but actually take the lawyer out? … Can the legal team set up the machine so that way the business team can be empowered to be do some of its own contracting out there?” said panelist Craig Conte, a partner at Deloitte Legal.
