Case management software provider Filevine is hoping to ride the contract life cycle management wave. Today, the company announced that it had struck a deal to acquire CLM vendor Outlaw for an undisclosed sum as it looks to broaden its appeal among corporate legal departments and position itself in a legal tech market that is becoming increasingly friendly toward interconnected solutions.

The answer to what all of that means for existing Filevine or Outlaw clients in the immediate future is pretty simple: Not much. According to Filevine CEO Ryan Anderson, his team will be working very closely with Outlaw over the next 90 days to successfully integrate the two products, which will continue to be sold separately.
