Relativity jumped up another IQ point. Today the e-discovery provider announced it has acquired artificial intelligence company Text IQ for an undisclosed sum in a gambit to expedite the evolution of products like Relativity Trace and RelativityOne.

The move comes shortly after private equity-firm Silver Lake became Relativity's largest shareholder with a significant minority stake, after investing an undisclosed amount in the company this past March to help fuel its innovation and growth.

"We really feel that over the next 10-years, that our industry—legal, compliance, privacy, etc.—are going to be radically transformed by what's possible now in AI," said Relativity's CEO Mike Gamson.
