E-signature and contracts platform DocuSign announced Thursday it’s diving deeper into blockchain-powered contracting with plans to acquire smart contract technology provider Clause.

According to a post from DocuSign chief technology officer Kamal Hathi, DocuSign is set to acquire Clause’s IP rights, while the “majority” of Clause’s team will join DocuSign’s engineers. Once the deal closes, DocuSign will migrate Clause’s products onto the DocuSign platform, the company noted in an email to Legaltech News. Financial details regarding the acquisition weren’t disclosed.
