Attorneys had a good run. Tuesday's "Adapting to the Rise of New Law" session held during the virtual Legalweek(year) conference indicated that it may be consumers—not lawyers—that drive the next wave of alternative legal service providers (ALSPs) and innovative law solutions.

To be fair, it sounds like consumers could use the attention. Lucy Ricca, executive director of the Utah Office of Legal Services Innovation, cited estimates claiming that 80 percent of Americans don't get help for their legal problems due to obstacles such as the high price of attorneys.
