There’s been a lot of chatter emanating from the corporate legal community about just how important it is—or isn’t—that outside counsel eventually return to an office environment. But what about alternative legal service providers? Absent cybersecurity concerns, clients are more open to the concept of remote ALSPs than they are to remote brick-and-mortar law firms.

Last month, Morgan Stanley chief legal officer Eric Grossman advised law firms to return to the office, arguing that the best work is done when attorneys are collaborating together in an office. However, that same school of thought may not strictly apply to ALSPs.
