Wednesday’s edition of the ILTACON 2021 conference greeted attendees with a simple yet oh-so complicated riddle in the form of the panel “Wait, Aren’t They the Same Thing?! The Technology Assisted Review (TAR) v. Continuous Active Learning (CAL) Duel.” 

The brief answer is yes, TAR and CAL are more or less the same thing, but there are still numerous decision vectors that legal and e-discovery professionals must take into consideration depending on their priorities.
