Love it or hate it, chances are that remote document review has more or less become a fact of life for attorneys during the pandemic. Nevertheless, what fate awaits document review once offices and other group spaces are no longer a public health risk is less definitive. While remote review has advantages—the ability to work from home, for one—the past year and a half has also found lawyers and providers alike struggling to navigate enhanced security precautions, productivity issues and communication gaps. For some, this has led to questions over whether turning a pandemic-born necessity into an ongoing arrangement is more trouble than it's worth.
