As the legal tech industry continues to pick up steam, more salespeople from other generic, business-to-business-type verticals are filtering into the space without a solid understanding of their new target audience. Joining a legal professional organization is increasingly the way many are looking to close the knowledge gap—and fortunately there may be more of them on the way.

Raj Goyle, CEO of legal spend software company Bodhala, opined that the legal industry is only beginning to understand the impact that technology will have on workflows. There are also a myriad of different point solutions in the ether, with Goyle arguing that the ecosystem is still “quite disjointed” in terms of how some of the smaller vendors or startups on the market achieve contact with buyers such as corporate legal departments.
