At its annual Inspire partner conference, legal document management giant NetDocuments has given a look into the company’s future: document automation. NetDocuments announced today that it has acquired Afterpattern, a no-code automation toolkit used to produce documents and workflow automations.

On its website, Afterpattern makes the distinction that it is “a toolkit, not a solution.” The toolkit includes an app builder; template builder for PDFs, Word files and emails; database tools; and customizable web portals. “We provide free customer support, tutorials that show you how to build, and experts for hire that can build on your behalf, but ultimately you decide how Afterpattern fits into your practice,” the company notes on its website.
