Late last month, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan became the first Am Law 100 firm to publicly announce its attorneys can permanently remain remote. As of press time, no other Big Law firm has made a similar public announcement.

But if others do follow, industry consultants said it won’t be technology that poses the biggest challenge. Instead, many will have to grapple with implementing processes that maintain attorney and client development and engagement in a remote setting.
