In October, information governance and records management company FileTrail named its first new CEO in more than 20 years, appointing Harold Westervelt to the position long held by co-founder Darrell Mervau. And after just three months on the job, FileTrail under Westervelt has already begun making moves on the M&A market.

Today, FileTrail announced it has acquired fellow information governance company Teravine, Inc. for an undisclosed sum. Based in Kansas, Teravine specializes in information governance-as-a-service for large law firms.

Through the deal, FileTrail will integrate Teravine's Provident software solution into its own information governance policy suite. Teravine's former CEO, Wes Baldwin, will also join FileTrail in the newly-created role of FileTrail chief technology officer to oversee further development of the platform.
