Litera is continuing 2022 much the same way it functioned throughout 2021—on an M&A acquisition spree. Last week saw the legal technology software provider acquire shipping company Lynch Marks and its PS/Ship product. And now, Litera has turned its attention to collaboration and systems management, acquiring Prosperoware for an undisclosed sum.

Prosperoware provides enterprise software focused on the adoption and governance of collaboration systems, with its Umbria platform looking to offer more insights into financial and matter management through connecting disparate systems. Founded in 2009, the company has clients across multiple industries but primarily focuses on the legal sector, claiming to have two-thirds of the Am Law 100 and one-quarter of the UK Top 50 among its clientele. In 2020, Prosperoware was also a member of PwC's legal tech incubator, Scale | LegalTech.

Both Keith Lipman, CEO and co-founder of Prosperoware, and Sheetal Jain, the company's co-founder and chief technology officer, will join Litera through the acquisition. A press release announcing the deal did not state any immediate changes that will occur for Prosperoware's current customer base.
