Only two months into 2022 and multiple federal agencies have already made public announcements regarding a new or continuing focus on data protection and privacy. To be sure, Congress’s appetite for enacting a federal data privacy law has seemingly fizzled in favor of bolstering antitrust enforcement. Still, data privacy and protection is still top of mind for the federal government and their agency leaders.
