For more than two decades, attorney Robert (Bob) Ambrogi and his son Ben Ambrogi, a media specialist and producer, have been chronicling the legal technology industry at Bob's well-known Lawsites Blog. But now, the two are now expanding their scope to map the industry as well, publicly announcing today the release of the LawNext Legal Technology Directory.

The LawNext Directory aims to provides information on legal tech products that would be necessary for buyers to make a decision, including the product's features, pricing, resources such as screenshots and outside press coverage of the product (including from Bob Ambrogi's own blog), and more. The product page will also feature reviews from verified sources, as well as listings of competitor products from the same product category.

The directory will launch with around 400 listings that responded to their limited pre-launch invitation to submit products, plus some the two have added internally to build out the list. Bob Ambrogi noted that they "will be looking to ramp up quickly" with more listings, and ultimately have a current target list of 4,000 companies to add. These products are categorized into 14 high-level groupings known as "tech centers" that provide a hub for product types, ranging from contracting to hiring & talent management and more. From there, products will be assigned into 72 different types of categories, helping further guide potential buyers to the type of tool for their needs.
