Months after the pandemic was in full-swing in the U.S. in August 2020, Shana Simmons left her position as senior counsel at Google to become the first general counsel for Oakland-based legal tech company Everlaw.

Ahead of her session at Legalweek, which looks at how companies can prepare for investigations by government regulators, Simmons connected with Legaltech News to discuss what interests her about the subject, her experience moving from Google to Everlaw, and what the legal market needs to do to promote better diversity and inclusion.
