Is the digital revolution for corporate legal departments over? According to the “Shaping the Future of Digitalization” report released by Eversheds Sutherland earlier this month, it might be. Of the 700 senior-level professionals surveyed, only 15% said their organization was prioritizing digital tech investment in their legal function over the next three years.

However, corporate legal department consultants contacted by Legaltech News noted such figures may have been conflated by many corporations categorizing some legal tech as enterprise software. Still, while many law departments are adopting additional technology and processes to meet evolving expectations, they don’t always secure budgeting for tech spend, observers added.
