As the legal technology industry continues to consolidate at a rapid pace, it is only natural that providers are looking to expand beyond their home base to take advantage of new, adjacent opportunities. The last few years have seen e-discovery’s expansion into information governance. Now, a growing number of contract lifecycle management (CLM) companies—including Linksquares and ContractPodAi—are signaling their ambitions to broaden beyond CLM.

While legal tech consultants are hesitant to predict the future of such endeavors, many wonder if there is far more to be accomplished within the CLM space before even plotting an expansion into other industries and use cases.
