Companies across the country are preparing for the many new state data privacy statutes to go into effect early next year. How well it’s going, however, may a bit more precarious.

The 2022 State of Data Visibility Report released today by privacy solutions company Transcend shows a significant amount of data sprawl and a lack of top-down will and resources to lead data governance efforts. The online survey included responses from corporate managers, directors, and vice presidents globally, and was compiled by self-reporting through Gartner’s Pulse in March 2022. It received about 75 answers on average to each question, and of those, 66% were from North American respondents, according to Transcend.
