A potential economic downturn on the horizon is likely to have an uneven impact on the legal tech market. On one hand, some legal tech tools and services will find themselves at the mercy of budget cuts at law firms and legal departments. On the other, many legal teams are looking to another set of tools and services to help them gain the cost efficiencies to survive any potential recession.

So where does that leave legal tech professionals? Raja Sengupta, executive vice president and general manager of Enterprise Legal Management (ELM) Solutions at Wolters Kluwer believes that, while demand will inevitably cool for some legal tech positions, other talent will see even more opportunities for their specific skill set.
