The past year has seen a major shakeup in the court analytics market. At the end of June 2022, court analytics provider Gavelytics shuttered its doors, citing a lack of financing options. Earlier this month, however, litigation analytics platform Pre/Dicta, which launched in June 2022, announced it acquired Gavelytics in a bid to expand its reach to state courts.

It’s entering a market, however, where a few companies are already moving to further establish themselves as the to-go state and local court analytics providers. Boosted by a $14.1 million series A funding round in October 2021, for instance, state court legal research and analytics platform Trellis has been steadily expanding its reach to courts across the U.S.
