Today, legal technology software company Litera announced that it acquired customer relationship management (CRM) provider Upper Sigma in January. Upper Sigma provides CRM tools that aim to help users collaborate and share data, monitor client relationships and track certain client analytics, among other features.

A press release announcing the deal noted that the acquisition will expand Litera's marketing and business development offerings. "Law firms that embrace technology and data analytics are more likely to succeed in a competitive legal landscape. We believe Upper Sigma's CRM will be a key tool in helping Litera's customers grow their business," said Litera CEO Sheryl D. Hoskins in the release.

Litera previously grew its marketing and business capabilities with the August 2021 acquisition of U.K-based Concep, which provides relationship marketing tools, and connects with certain CRM systems.
