Artificial intelligence and contracts review software provider Kira Systems, a subsidiary of Litera since December 2021, is suing its former Vice President of Global Product Kennan Samman for alleged breach of its noncompete and IP and confidentiality agreements. Last month, Samman joined Switzerland-based startup DeepJudge, which offers “AI-powered knowledge search,” as its chief revenue officer, according to a July 13 press release from the company.

The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia on Thursday, brought one count of breach of contract against Samman, and one count of tortious interference with a contract against DeepJudge.
