On Wednesday, contract automation provider Ontra, formerly known as InCloudCounsel, announced that it has integrated OpenAI’s most advanced large language model (LLM), GPT-4, into Ontra Synapse, the company’s AI-engine. Ontra also added that GPT-4 will now power the company’s Insight platform, which focuses on fundraising and side letter compliance.

In an email, Eric Hawkins, senior vice president of engineering at Ontra, told Legaltech News that Ontra Synapse “leverages both commercial and proprietary LLMs,” and that while Insight was previously solely powered by “proprietary models,” it is now using OpenAI’s GPT-4 LLM for the first time. He added, “After evaluating many different commercial LLMs, we believe complementing Ontra’s internal machine learning models with third-party models will enable us to provide customers with additional value and to do so faster.”
