On Monday, EY announced that it entered into a "global alliance" with e-discovery provider Reveal that will see the Big 4 consulting firm leveraging Reveal's suite of e-discovery products and technology. The alliance allows EY to expand what it calls its "Advanced Data Discovery solution" to more use cases including meeting the cyber incident response and due diligence needs of its clients around the globe.

EY's Global Head of Forensics and Innovation Todd Marlin told Legaltech News that the beginnings of this alliance started years ago when Reveal acquired both Brainspace and NexLP.

"So the essence, the beginnings, of this discussion began through Reveal's acquisitions of Brainspace and NexLP, and the ability to package knowledge and reuse it. Because what is EY? EY is one of the foremost firms of knowledge experts in all of these different sectors and we understand how businesses work, the procedures, the policies, what regulators expect, etc. … We were already using Brainspace, which Reveal acquired, and we became aware of these greater capabilities … and we came up with this idea of creating model libraries, essentially, by sector, and ultimately by client, for their issues."
