In the lead-up to the 2024 presidential election earlier this month, voters were able to check their voter registration using websites containing publicly available personal information.

Using voter roll websites such as VoteRef, which has information available for voters in most states, a simple name search can show one's address, age, party affiliation, and more. Although voter information could be requested with a Freedom of Information Act request, websites like VoteRef make personal information more easily accessible.
