On Tuesday, legal technology and services company Epiq announced the availability of the Epiq AI Discovery Assistant and the creation of Epiq AI Labs, a new AI development initiative.
The announcement follows Epiq’s 2024 acquisition of Laer AI, a legal technology startup founded by Igor Labutov and Bishan Yang, who respectively hold Ph.D.s in computer engineering and computer science from Cornell, and who both did postdoctoral research at Carnegie Mellon. The purchase saw Labutov and Yang join Epiq as vice presidents.
