On Wednesday Avantia, a law firm that develops proprietary software, publicly announced the creation of Ava, an artificial intelligence agent platform. The London-based firm, which also possesses some attributes of an alternative legal service provider, has spent several years developing AI agents to work on projects such as nondisclosure agreements and know-your-customer protocols.

The announcement comes two months after the firm, which primarily serves private equity clients, said that it is eyeing expanding to New York.
