Some law firm leaders are indicating that 2025 could be a big year for artificial intelligence within the legal sector, and midsize firms are preparing for several potential changes in the near future.

Three of the largest expected shifts will impact how law firms bill clients, how many lawyers they intake and how they shape mentoring. Leaders at Hinckley Allen and Taft Stettinius & Hollister predict that AI will serve to assist lawyers rather than outright replace them, but they’re preparing for big changes nonetheless.

Firms that are willing to discuss their approach to AI are commonly in the testing phases of trying different products on the market. Both Hinckley Allen and Taft are also in that same phase.
