Soon after the current Congress began, the leadership undertook steps to make the Capitol more environmentally friendly — “greener,” in the current parlance.
Although we are waiting for a comprehensive national policy to reduce America’s consumption of fossil fuels and discharge of carbon-based and other materials into the air, businesses and others have undertaken halting steps in that direction. Looking back at $4 a gallon for gas — and forward to $5 a gallon — simple self-interest is demanding action.
