Spring can’t come a moment too soon this year. Yesterday, I saw the season’s first crocuses, bursting up from the ground at Carl Schurz Park — sharp slices of yellow punctuating the rich purple blooms.
The daffodils and tulips are beginning to punch their green tips through the softening soil, though it will be a week or so before they will open with their Pantone palette. The air is kinder; for the first time since October, I took my dog for a walk without first grabbing my jacket.
