Many organizations are quick to slash employee training budgets when looking for savings in these challenging times. But that can be a critical — and possibly fatal — mistake. Without proper education of your personnel, your organization will not maximize productivity and development, whether a law firm, company, non-profit, or government agency.

Understandably, firms are reluctant to ship employees to expensive venues, such as vendor/user group meetings at posh resorts. In lean times, with reduced personnel, it’s hard to spare a team member even for a day. And even for the most ambitious individuals, the economy’s grip on families may preclude investing in education options not paid for by their employers.
