Over the last few years, we have been watching the evolution of law libraries from books, bricks and mortar to a new, intangible reality. Libraries — and, to an extent, their parent organizations — are morphing from large, concrete physical plants to smaller, yet larger, organizations. We know that this transformation is not just in the realm of libraries but involves all human institutions.
Ann Fessenden, incoming American Association of Law Libraries president-elect, announced the theme of AALL’s 2008 annual meeting: “Energize, Explore, Evolve.” She is encouraging librarians to consider more interactive delivery methods, and to “explore new information formats, new ways to reach our stakeholders, and new collaborative, interactive ways to communicate and deliver our message.”
