As Touro College’s Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center prepared to move to a new campus, our faculty and administrators were surveyed about how they might use the increased bandwidth, modern telephone system and other innovations of the new location. Our seven-person Career Services Office offered its technology wish list: computer-equipped workstations to help users search online; audio and video recording/conferencing capabilities for practice and remote interviews; and new hardware and software. We got our wishes (and more), and have created a state-of-the-art career center for our community.
To serve both employers and candidates, we offer both a public website and a password-protected intranet. The website, www.tourolaw.edu/cpc, includes online and PDF job posting forms, employment demographics and contact information. The private intranet includes listings of job offerings and job fairs, and other student-specific data including grades and course assignments. Additionally, Brett Gilbert, our assistant dean for career services, maintains a blog on career issues at http://tourolawcso.blogspot.com, and e-mails career alerts to students.
