Last fall, our Minneapolis law firm (80 attorneys and 100 support staff) moved to VoIP. My advice: Be sure the firm’s infrastructure is ready to support VoIP. This includes:
1. Cabling: Use high grade cable — CAT5e or higher. If you are going to daisy-chain the PC behind the phone, think about adding two cable drops to each location for redundancy and/or one port for phone and one for data. Don’t skimp!
