I was joined on that panel by Jo Haraf, CIO of Morrison & Foester, and by J. Craig Williams, founder of WLF | The Williams Law Firm, and author of the popular May It Please the Court blog (www.mayitpleasethecourt.com). We had a packed house, to our delight, and a wonderfully enthusiastic audience. Jo Haraf offered large-firm perspectives, and her always pragmatic advice, especially on the topic of training. Craig Williams shared his experiences in a small firm environment, and we all chimed in on our favorite tech secrets, from basic (how to create a signature in Microsoft Outlook) to sophisticated (nuances of using Dragon Naturally Speaking 9). One tip from Haraf: “Pair older, reluctant attorneys with younger, gadget-friendly attorneys,” to mix wisdom with technology risk-taking.
My favorite piece of advice: As the Nike commercial says, “Just Do It.” Dive in!
