Problems arise when communications are compromised, with results that can be devastating. Clearly communicate project expectations. Don’t make assumptions.

Another issue: “Middle man” interference. If you are working with a consultant on behalf of an attorney, keep that attorney informed every step of the way. It is not pretty when things don’t appear as they should. This sheds a bad light on all parties, no matter who gets the chance to explain first.
