Welcome to Web 2.0, arguably the next step in the evolution of the Internet. Web 1.0 was about hyperlinks and static content which could be accessed from anywhere. Web 1.5 was about dynamic content, web pages that changed on the fly as the underlying data changed. Now comes Web 2.0, which is about collaboration and using the Internet as a software platform rather than just a networking tool. In the Web 2.0 world, the Internet becomes more than a medium for connecting networks. Instead, it becomes a platform for connecting people in social networks — and empowering them with software to work together in ways never contemplated by traditional organizational manuals.
