LawInContext (www.lawincontext.com) is a subscription-based online legal information and training venture, launched in 2003 by Baker & McKenzie. Designed for clients (and potential clients), the idea was the brainchild of a group of Baker & McKenzie’s partners, including Philip Marcovici, a partner in the Zurich office (who is now on a leave of absence to run LawInContext). The group saw a gap in the market between traditional legal services and generic published legal information.
All legal information is developed and regularly updated for LawInContext by Baker & McKenzie attorneys (and contributing firms) around the world, and is organized into “Helpdesks.” All Helpdesks and training modules are available online 24/7 from any computer with Internet access.
