My take on change and upgrades relates closely to the size of our group (seven people) and how much is at stake for us at any given moment (day, week, month). With limited resources and the utmost emphasis on efficiency, technological change has to be managed well and watched with a critical eye.
Jumping to a new development tool or environment that doesn’t work would hamstring us. We simply don’t have the extra time to roll back changes nor the extra hardware with which to experiment.
