Today, few developers openly tout the “ASP model,” because that concept was too closely associated with dot-coms and continues to carry a negative connotation. Instead, developers have revised their models and now describe them as “Web-based.” It’s a different model, developed from the ground up to be Web-based instead of a desktop interface.
