I got hooked during the 1998 post-season, when I had the TV on for background noise while I worked at my computer. One word: pitching. I became mesmerized by the strategy of the game, watching Yankees manager Joe Torre make critical decisions about when to yank a pitcher. I was a goner.
Of course, by the time this hits your desk, we’ll be into November and the end of what just about everybody insists was the best post-season in the history of baseball. I’ll leave it to better writers to discuss the specifics of curses and miracles, but it sure was exciting!
