Two Virginia companies, Cricket Legal Technologies (www.cricketlegaltech nologies.com) and Venio Systems (www.veniosystems.com), have partnered to produce Cricket Early Case Assessment and Analytics, which is now powered by Venio FPR. With it, litigators can conduct first-pass review and assessment to analyze large datasets to identify key documents before conducting a full review. It include analytics, search capabilities, foreign language recognition, and customizable tagging. The system is designed to help users reduce the number of files reviewed, for more responsive reviews and production. Venio FPR integrates with litigation support programs. It can be installed in-house or used as an outsourced service.

KPMG (www.kpmg.com) has created several new partnerships:
• With Kansas-based Archer Technologies (www.archer.com), which provides governance, risk and compliance software and services. The alliance combines KPMG’s experience with business processes and Archer’s automated services, the two companies note.
• With Minnesota’s Thomson Reuters (www.thomsonreuters.com). KPMG now provides Thomson’s Paisley GRC software to its clients, helping them manage internal audit, governance, risk and compliance processes.
• With California’s Guidance Software (www.guidancesoftware.com) . Under the alliance, KPMG offers Guidance’s EnCase eDiscovery software as part of KPMG’s Forensic Technology Services.
