I am cheap; legal research is not. In addition, I am not one of those special few attorneys who can nail a legal research issue the first time, every time, through a well-composed Boolean search that pulls all of the cases I need and just the cases I need.

Occasionally (read: frequently) it takes me a couple (read: many) searches to find what I need, to figure out that what I thought I was seeking doesn’t exist, to realize that what I was looking for actually involves a term of art, or to discover that I spelled something wrong, and there are no refunds on that multi-state search I just ran.
